Prenatal Yoga

Come relax, stretch and strengthen while getting to know other pregnant moms in the community. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

THE BENEFITS OF PRENATAL YOGA

Share the different stages, joys and challenges of pregnancy with other women in your community. Learn to trust your body wisdom, allowing yourself to let go of stress and tension. Practice gentle yoga postures and breathing techniques. Quiet the mind so you can deepen your relationship with your baby. Gain emotional and physical strength preparing you for childbirth.

This four-week series of one-hour classes is taught by Heather Dyas-Fried, RYT. Heather is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher.  Kripalu is the largest center for yoga and holistic living in North America and is recognized the place people go to become integrated and masterful in their lives. She has also completed teacher trainings in Prenatal Yoga (Janice Clarfield, Urban Yoga) and Mom/Baby Yoga (Baby Om Yoga, NYC).  Heather is a birth and postpartum doula, certified by DONA.  She also has a BA in Theatre Arts and is a founding member of Equalogy, Inc., a theatre for social change based in NYC.

The series will be for 4 Sundays with one Make-up.

When should I join a series?

You can join the series at any time. We only ask that you email before showing up.

What should I wear to the series?

Please wear clothing that is loose and comfortable to move in.

When should I start the prenatal series?

You can start the prenatal series at any time during your pregnancy.

What should I bring to class?

You can bring water and your mat. If you do not have a yoga mat we have some for use at the studio.

What is a make up day, and how does it work?

A make-up day is a day added into the series in case you miss one of the classes, you can then make up the one class in the series. There is always an extra class in the series. So if you sign up for a 4-week series, you have 5 weeks to attend the 4 classes.
